Bio mag : cal + c is a unique bone support formula with added immune function. Vitamin A and K, calcium, magnesium and manganese help in the development and maintenance of healthy bones. Vitamin D3 1000 IU per daily dose helps in the absorption of calcium. Boron plays a role in bone composition and bone strength.1 Buffered Vitamin C is excellent for patients with acidic sensitivities and helps in the development and maintenance of bones, cartilage, teeth and gums, and in connective tissue formation. Once the mineral ascorbates are formed, they undergo a freeze-drying process called CRYO-dri to help maintain mineral-ascorbate biological activity, physical structure and purity. The resulting mineral-ascorbates can be highly bio-available and have a potentially high nutritional value.
Combined bone health and immune support formula Bone support: vitamins A and K; calcium; magnesium; manganese; vitamin D3; and boron. Immune support: vitamin C helps support development and maintenance of bones, cartilage, teeth and gums, and in connective tissue formation.
Organic-sourced minerals potentially increase bioavailability Due to high physiological value and mineral-ascorbate water solubility.
Unique CRYO-dri freeze-dried process Drying without direct heat maintains mineral-ascorbate biological activity, physical structure and purity.
Scientific Rationale:
In men and women 65 years of age or older, dietary supplementation with 500mg calcium and 700IU vitamin D moderately reduced bone loss over a three-year study period and reduced the incidence of nonvertebral fractures.2
In osteopenic elderly men, low blood levels of 25-OH Vitamin D and Vitamin K (including phylloquinone) was correlated to lower Z-scores, meaning that they had lower bone mineral densities than men of the same age with higher levels of vitamin D and K.3
