HMF Natogen provides a highly-concentrated, ratio-specific combination of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei and Bifidobacterium infantis, essential to the development and maturation of the newborn?s immune system. Studies show that microflora imbalances in the newborn can increase the risk of childhood allergy and susceptibility to infectious disease, leading diminished immunological protection, nutritional malabsorption and decreased capacity to detoxify harmful compounds in later years. The Lactobacillus acidophilus in the HMF Natogen will target and stimulate the mucosal immune system and will colonize the upper gastrointestinal tract.

In a base of lactose similar to breast milk for maximum assimilation. The lactose base is derived from cow's milk. The lactose base is an important energy source for breast and bottle fed babies derived from milk but free of casein.
Recommended Dosage Add one level scoop daily in the feeding, or dip your baby finger into scoop and give to infant to suckle on throughout the day. Infants: Can be mixed into food or bottle 2-3 times daily. Dose is apx what can stick to tip of your finger (apx 33mg or 1 billion viable cells). If breast feeding, try wetting your nipple and putting some powder on the tip before nursing. Or, use a tiny plastic spoon (i.e. those found in the ice cream/gelato store when you are doing a flavor tasting). This tiny spoon fits perfectly into the Neonate bottle and then into their tiny mouth, and its easily smeared onto their tongue. You can then follow it with a little breast milk, formula, or let them move it around their mouth with saliva. They may not even notice they have anything in their mouth.
Is this product safe for Infants age 0-12 months? YES. Although the product label now indicates that it is for children age 1- 4, it is actually formulated for infants 0-12 months. This is due to regulations by Health Canada (where the product is made and sold) which does not allow age range below 12 months to be listed on supplements (even if proven safe).

This product does not contain: wheat, gluten, soy, corn, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Are HMF products shipped with an ice pack? No. But, after extensive product testing and new freeze drying technology performed by Genestra, it was concluded that the ice pack did not make a difference during shipping since the product potency was still well over 100% label claims when shipped with ice or no ice. The manufacturer states that it is no longer necessary to ship the HMF products with an ice pack for these reasons:
Genestra has added in 50% more probiotic than what the label guarantees per bottle. For example, HMF Forte is guaranteed to have 6 billion L. acidophilus per serving, but there are 12 billion present at time of manufacturing and it is kept frozen until shipping.

How do I travel with my HMF probiotics? I have been using for over 7 months now with my first born and will be using again with my second child. It did cause an upset tummy for the first couple weeks, however since baby transitioned to solids in his diet he had no problems.

this product was recommended by a nutritionist as a means to strengthen a baby's immune system. I'm using it now but the real proof will be when she starts day care next March. The "spoon" provided could be a little longer, it's hard to get to the bottom of the bottle.

this product was recommended to me by a naturopathic doctor for general immune-building for my 4 month old son. We quickly discovered that there is an added benefit- this product really helps clear up diaper rash. Whenever my son had a flare-up, we''d give him this, and within 48 hours, often 24, the rash would be gone. Treat the cause not just the rash. fantastic!
